The Golf Blog says: The final round of the 2017 Masters played out in 4 memorable acts.

In the first act, Sergio Garcia started out strong on the first nine and opened up a 3-shot lead at -8, to playing partner Justin Rose’s -5. Sergio seemed calm and loose.

But the second act saw the momentum shift on the second nine as Sergio faltered with 2 straight bogeys after making the turn and Justin soon opened up a 3-shot lead himself, reversing the scores: -8 to -5 by Sergio. (There were others, such as Belgian Thomas Pieters, Matt Kuchar, and Charl Schwartzel, who tried to crash the party, but each of their runs was not enough to really get into contention.)

The third act saw Sergio–just when it seemed like he was out of it–make a dramatic charge with an eagle on 15 and birdie on 17. But Sergio missed a 6 foot birdie on the 18th that would have won it outright. Playoff.

The fourth act was a playoff repeating the 18th hole. Justin’s bad drive opened up the hole for Sergio, who sunk a 12-foot birdie putt with the ball curling around the hole and in reminiscent of Phil Mickelson’s first Masters’ victory.

It was an amazing head-to-head duel between Sergio and Justin. And it seemed appropriate that Sergio won on the late Seve Ballesteros’ 60th birthday. Congrats, Sergio!
